Nightfall: Chapter 4

=i just listened in on the conversation=
So we've got another ally then? Seems like I got in on the ground floor.

"We may have another ally, yes. This is a dangerous place, with Nick Knight around, and whoever it is that leads the Nightbane and Wolves. All three of them are against us. If that woman has been left alone, we can only hope she survives long enough for us to meet her."

I lay down my briefcase, smiling at Seln. It was deeply good to know that, even if something happened, people were starting to think like me. I could only hope it wasn't too late.

(Claire)

I get pissed at how they handle me, and even more at the dumbass cops in this town.

(S)
If I get her location I could head out there and try to get her to a safe location. I've got a few good escape routes and tactics.

"We can do more if we both look. I'll leave the case here for my informant, and we can head out to find this girl."
I tuck the case under the bench, unbuttoning and draping my jacket over the back of the bench, to make it look like someone was still sitting here, and had simply gone away for a few moments.

"Where could we look for her? Anton?"

(Anton)

=I rub my chin in thought for a few moments, considering what happened=

I know she's holed up in a bar called 'The Lonesome Stallion' somewhere in the city.

=I give a half smile=

If anyone hasn't gotten to her, she'll be there.

(Damire)

=I hear footsteps as someone comes up to me=

Soldier: Sir...they've found her and are bringing her here as we speak.

Good, good. Pay the informant for his silence on the matter. If he don't take the money, kill him.

Soldier: Understood, sir.

=The soldier scurries off, and I'm left alone for a few minutes. A few minutes later, my soldiers arrive with a figure between them=

1: This is the one that the informant talked about, sir.

You did very well to bring her alive. =I make a gesture= Take her to the interrogation room.

=The two bow, taking the figure to the interrogation room I had set up=

Now, my dear, let's see what's in that little head of yours...

(Claire)

I'm shoved down into a chair, and tied. I could break out, but I had no idea where I was, and wasn't about to fight my way out. They take off the blind fold and I blink as light blinds me.

(Connor)

I had a strange feeling in my stomach, it was bad, made me nervous.

I tried to ignore it, but it wasn't leaving.
Fine. We'll go find Claire. She'll be fine.

I thought to myself, or maybe the other part of me. It was the part with the feeling, after all.

(Damire)

=I walk into the room and dim down the lights a bit=

Well, well...So this is my troublemaker?

=I find a chair and sit in front of her=

You sure don't seem like one. But then again...that's what I'm going to find out.

(Claire)

I smile and shakr my head.

"I believe you have the wrong person. Im one who tends to avoid trouble. "

(Damire)

=I frown a bit=

Really? What I've heard says other wise...

=I draw my self up to my full height=

You see, you crossed me. And that's a move I'll make you soon regret.

"Lonesome Stallion. Good name." Sounded like something from up the continent I used to live on, kind of reminded me of my travels actually.

I began to scratch my neck, thinking again. With everything I'd learnt from Francis, I knew there were people like me out here who wanted to stop Nick Knight, even if for different reasons than I. Most of them could more than likely handle themselves, and hiding was second nature to them. But for this girl... She could already be broken at the neck for all we knew.
"Well, I'm sure she could handle herself. We shouldn't hurry, unless either of you have any qualms with that."

(S)
=i shrug=
I don't have any qualms.

(Anton)

=I sigh shake my head=

You have no objections from me

=I then smile thinly=

(Claire)

I look him ovwr then raise my eyebrow.

"Sorry I dont think I got a name... you are?"

(Damire)

=I smile=

My apologies, I seem to have forgotten my manners.

=I mock bow=

Name's Damire Tarivin.

"Okay, good. Where is this bad or tavern, Anton? I have some other business I must deal with, so if we can meet there later I would very much like to speak with the girl."
I smiled a little, thinking about how today had gone so far. Not even a few hours in, and it was better than anything from the last two weeks.
Amazing.

(Claire)

I smile sarcastically.

"Nice to meet you, though It seems you already know about me."

I tilt my head.

"So lets talk about you. Whats your purpose Damire?"

(Anton)

=I had, wisely, written down the address of the place the night before on a piece of paper=

Here's the address of the place, Soren. Mind you, the front of the place looks like something pulled out of an old American western.

=I smile thinly=

You really can't miss it. I'll call if there's any complications.

(Damire)

=I smile thinly=

Well...seems I'm the one being questioned right now...not the other way around...

Plus she's young, barely over a century old...

My purpose, you say?

=I rub my chin, a bit thoughtful=

My purpose right now is to ask you a very simple question. And if you don't answer it truthfully...I may just forget my manners.

(Claire)

I give him a blank stare.

"Well aren't you the gentleman? I'm sure all the ladies just love you..."

I smile and nod, taking the sheet and studying it for a moment.
"Brilliant, thank you Anton." I looked at him, and gave him a trusting look. "If anything goes wrong, I want you to find out where this girl is. I don't want to risk losing a potential ally, no matter how small."

(Damire)

=I turn my head, my eyes briefly narrowing at the barb=

She's baiting me...and it seems to be working...

=I carefully ignore the statement, going to my question=

Now I overheard you had a plan for taking out the Nightbane, yes?

(Claire)

I frown, and tilt my head.

"Little ol' me? Dear you really have the wrong person, I'm just here to attend the Beaux Arts Ball."

I give a laugh.

"I'm a lover, not a fighter Mr. Tarivian... May I call you Mr. Tarivian, or do you prefer something more.. casual"

(Damire)

=I sigh=

Call me Damire...

=I walk up to her and look her in the eyes=

Really? I heard otherwise...

=I glare at her=

Because I feel that you're lying...and I don't like it when people lie to me.

(Anton)

=I give a knowing smile=

I'll do what I can.

=My expression goes neutral=

(Claire)

I smile.

"Well then, I guessing you're not mad then."
